Help
What is this?
A search tool for the Message — the transcribed sermons of William Branham. Type any idea in plain English and it finds sermon passages about that idea, even if the exact words never appear in the text.
How search works
Normal search looks for matching words. This app looks for matching meaning. When you search, your words are turned into a kind of “meaning fingerprint”, and the app compares it against more than 60,000 sermon passages to find the closest matches.
For example: if you search “Esau going to Babylon”, the app can find passages about Esau leaving for Babylon even when the sermon never uses those exact words.
Understanding the match labels
Each result shows how closely its meaning matches your search:
- Strong match — very likely about exactly what you asked.
- Good match — probably related; worth reading.
- Fair match — loosely related; may still be useful.
The percentage is the closeness score. Higher means closer in meaning.
Online vs. offline mode
Online mode is like asking a library for a book — quick, but you need internet. Offline mode is like having your own bookshelf at home — always available, no internet needed, but it takes up some space on your device.
| Online (default) | Offline | |
|---|---|---|
| Internet needed? | Yes | Only for the first download |
| First-time setup | None | One download (about 60MB total) |
| Search speed | Fast (about a second) | A little slower (a few seconds) |
| Best for | Quick lookups, browsing | Limited data plans, travel, unreliable internet |
Turning on offline mode
- Open Settings.
- Press “Enable offline search” and wait for the download to finish.
- Switch the search mode to “Offline”.
After that, searching and reading sermons works with no connection at all. Your searches never leave your device in offline mode.
How to use the app
- Search bar — describe any concept in your own words.
- Results — each card shows the sermon, date, quote numbers, and a preview. Click to read.
- Topics — pick a subject (like “Dreams & Interpretation” or “Choosing a Wife or Husband”) or type your own, and see every sermon that touches it with the exact quote ranges, grouped for study.
- Sermon page — the full sermon text with quote numbers in the margin.
- Browse by year — every sermon organized by year, 1947–1965.
Reading tools
- Highlighting — select any sermon text and pick a color. To extend one, select across it and paint again; to shrink or remove part, select that part and press ✕. All your highlights are collected under Highlights, where you can search, recolor, or delete them.
- Pick up where you left off — when you reopen a sermon you were reading, a small "Continue" note offers to jump back to your last spot. Turn this off in Settings.
- Font and text size — choose a comfortable typeface and size in Settings; it applies to all sermon reading.
- Recent searches — your latest searches appear on the home page for quick re-running. Toggle or clear them in Settings.
- Highlights, reading positions, and searches stay on your device only.
